According to the California Highway Patrol, a multi-vehicle accident occurred in Moreno Valley on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened at the intersection of Moreno Beach Drive and Cactus Avenue.
The officials stated that a gray 2001 Lexus and a white Honda Odyssey were involved in the collision.
The driver of the Lexus ran a red light, broadsided in the intersection, and sent the car into a metal traffic pole.
According to the police, the driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger suffered major injuries.
The identity of the injured victims was not revealed by the California Highway Patrol.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
