1 Person Severely Injured In A Pedestrian Accident In Albuquerque (Albuquerque, N. M)

According to Albuquerque police, a pedestrian suffered severe head trauma after he was struck by a vehicle Tuesday.

The unidentified pedestrian was selling water at the intersection of Southbound Pan American Freeway and Montano when he entered the lane of an oncoming vehicle.  

Witnesses reported that the pedestrian entered the lane to collect money from another vehicle. 

The pedestrian was transported to the University of New Mexico hospital with severe head trauma. The Toyota driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers.

The crash appears to be the result of a pedestrian error, according to police spokeswoman Rebecca Atkins.

An investigation into the pedestrian crash is ongoing.
