On Monday afternoon, one person suffered serious injuries following a traffic collision near North Bend.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place at about 2:00 p.m. on westbound Interstate 90, east of North Bend. The preliminary investigation indicated that a pickup truck crashed into a semi-truck for undetermined reasons. The driver of the pickup truck was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be extricated.
All westbound lanes of Interstate 90 were temporarily closed near milepost 40 while a helicopter landed to airlift the injured victim to the hospital. All lanes were back open at approximately 4:00 p.m. No further details were provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
