1 person seriously injured after a motorcycle slammed into a pole in East Austin (Austin, TX)

One person received serious injuries after a single-vehicle accident Saturday evening near a greenbelt area in East Austin.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the Loyola Lane and Crystalbrook Drive at about 10:23 p.m. after getting reports of a motorcycle crash. The early reports showed that a motorcycle slammed into a pole for unknown reasons.

ATCEMS called for the assistance of Travis County STAR Flight after an Austin Fire hasty team went in and found the motorcyclist. First responders determined that the victim needed to be hoisted by STAR Flight due to the injuries.

By 10:58 p.m., a rescuer was lowered and hoisted the driver into the helicopter. The victim was flown to Dell Seton in serious condition. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
