On early Wednesday, a man, who was delivering meals on a bicycle, suffered injuries after getting struck by a vehicle on the South Side.
As per the initial information, the hit-and-run crash took place in the 3300 block of Fairmeadows Street, not far from Poteet Jourdanton Freeway and Interstate 35, before 3 a.m. The preliminary investigation indicated that the man in his 50s was traveling in the area when he got hit by a vehicle.
He informed the officers that he had just left an apartment and was delivering meals when the vehicle hit him from behind. According to an eyewitness, they saw a grey SUV that drove off towards Palo Alto Road after the collision.
The bicycle rider was transported to University Hospital in serious but stable condition. Reports further revealed that pre-packaged meals were spread on the ground by the bicycle. No other details are immediately available.
The incident remains under active review.
