1 Person Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Sacramento (Sacramento, CA)

The Sacramento Police Department reported a pedestrian accident on Monday. 

The accident occurred in the area of 29th Street and Gardendale Road in the Meadowview neighborhood shortly before 10 p.m. 

According to the officials, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and suffered serious injuries. The first responders attempted to aid him but he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The identity of the victim has not been disclosed pending notification of the family. 

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 60-year-old Bobby Edward Thomas and he is suspected to have been driving under the influence at the time of the fatal accident

He had struck the pedestrian and fled the scene. The officials later found him at his home. Bobby was arrested on the charges of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run causing death.
