1 Person Killed In A Pedestrian Accident In Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

The California Highway Patrol stated that on Saturday a pedestrian was struck and killed in a pedestrian accident in Bakersfield. 

Approximately at 10:30 p.m., a 2014 Nissan driven by a woman was headed eastbound on Niles Street, west of Barlow Street. The vehicle struck a pedestrian who was walking outside the crosswalk. 

The pedestrian was critically injured and was immediately transported to the Kern Medical Hospital. Later he was pronounced dead. The officials have not disclosed any details regarding the vehicle involved in the collision. 

The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
