The Chico Police Department reported a single-vehicle accident on Monday. The accident occurred in the area of east 5th Avenue at the Highway 99 overpass. It was reported at around 5:30 p.m.
According to the officials, a vehicle was involved in a crash. The driver of the vehicle, identified only as a man, incurred fatal injuries and was rushed to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The identity of the driver has not been disclosed pending notification of the family.
