The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle collision on the 605 Freeway in Cerritos.
The incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday evening.
A dark-colored sedan was driving the wrong way in the southbound lanes of the freeway.
The sedan crashed head-on into a silver-colored pick-up truck.
The officials confirmed that one person was killed in the fatal crash.
The CHP had to close the right two lanes of the southbound 605 Freeway just south of Alondra Boulevard for further investigation of the crash.
The identity of the victim was not released by CHP officials.
No additional information relating to the crash is available.
