1 Person Killed In A Motor Vehicle Accident In Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported a motor vehicle accident in Bakersfield on February 3. The crash occurred just after 7:30 p.m. on Weedpatch Highway.

According to the authorities, a Toyota traveling southbound on Weedpatch Highway, north of Tri Duncan Avenue, veered off the road and collided with a road sign. The vehicle continued its trajectory, striking a concrete/metal post before coming to a stop. Despite wearing seatbelts at the time, the unidentified driver was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated by the authorities. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. The identity of the victim is expected to be disclosed by the coroner’s office at a later time.
