According to the Santa Ana Police, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Santa Ana on Sunday.
The crash happened in the area of 1500 South Fairview Street at around 5 p.m.
According to the investigators, 65-year-old Venicio Gallardo was identified as the suspect. He was traveling on Fairview street when he struck the man and fled the scene.
The officials stated that the victim suffering from major injuries was rushed to the local hospital and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigators are investigating whether drugs, alcohol, distracted driving, or speed played a factor in the crash.
No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
