According to the California Highway Patrol, a hit-and-run accident occurred in North Highland on Monday. The crash happened across Elkhorn Boulevard at Butterball Way at around 11:15 p.m.
According to the investigators, a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette and an unknown person were involved in the collision. The driver of the Chevrolet was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck an unknown pedestrian.
The unknown pedestrian suffered significant injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The North Highlands Police Department did not reveal the identity and the name of the unknown deceased person.
The accident is still being investigated at this time. No additional information regarding the fatal crash was provided by the Deputies.
