According to the Capitola Police Department, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Capitola. The accident occurred roughly at 8:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Bay Avenue.
According to the officials, a pedestrian and a vehicle were involved in a collision. The pedestrian was struck by the vehicle. The events leading up to this are not clear. The vehicle fled the scene before the officials could arrive. The pedestrian was fatally injured and was pronounced dead.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
