According to the Georgia Police, a motorcycle accident was reported in Augusta on Monday.
Authorities reported that the motorcyclist died due to the fatal crash.
Officials also stated that the collision occurred near Mile Marker 3 of Intestate 520 near Gordon Highway.
The motorcycle was traveling east at a high speed and struck the rear of an eastbound vehicle.
The rider was thrown from the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
He was identified as 41 year old Paul Wilder.
