According to the California Highway Patrol, a fatal crash was reported on Tuesday in Lassen County. Officials confirmed that one person died due to the motor vehicle accident. Authorities stated that the collision occurred on Highway 395, north of Saddleback Lane.
A 2020 Freightliner Box Trailer was going southbound when a sudden strong gust of wind overturned the big rig. This resulted in forcing it into the northbound lane, on the path of another 2022 Freightliner Box Trailer.
The unidentified driver of the first big rig was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the second Freightliner Box Trailer was identified as 44-year-old A. Perez Saucedo. Saucedo sustained minor injuries due to the wreck.
The crash continues to be investigated by the CHP.
