1 person killed, child hospitalized after a fiery crash near Fowler (Fowler, CA)

On Thursday morning, one person died and a child suffered injuries following a fiery crash near Fowler.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place at approximately 7:30 a.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Manning Avenue. The preliminary reports showed that a car rear-ended a semi-truck for undetermined reasons. Due to the impact, the car got engulfed in flames.

The driver of the vehicle died of their injuries as a result of the accident. A child was taken to a local hospital with minor to moderate injuries. HWY 99 near Manning Ave was closed as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
