On early Thursday morning, a man lost his life while another person suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Goodyear.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of MC-85 and Cotton Lane shortly after 12:30 a.m. on reports of a two-vehicle crash. One man suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. A second man was rushed to a hospital with non-fatal injuries.
The identities of the victims have not been revealed at this time. At this time, it is unclear if speed or impairment contributed to the accident. MC-85 was shut down in both directions from Cotton Lane to Perryville Road as crews worked at the scene. No other details are available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
