1 person killed after a vehicle crashes into a tree southeast of Grand Rapids (Alto, MI)

On Friday, one person died after a vehicle slammed into a tree southeast of Grand Rapids.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at about 6 p.m. on Timpson Avenue near 64th Street SE in Alto. The preliminary investigation showed that a car struck a tree for undetermined reasons.

Officials confirmed that one person was killed as a result of the collision. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. Alto firefighters and Kent County sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash site. No other details are made available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
