1 person killed after a two-vehicle collision in Santa Fe Springs (Santa Fe Springs, CA)

On Sunday evening, one person died following a traffic collision in Santa Fe Springs.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle crash took place shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Excelsior Drive in which a semi-truck and another vehicle were involved. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a crushed car under the rear end of the semi-truck.

One person suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
