On Monday evening, one person died following a motor vehicle accident on a Memphis interstate.
As per the initial information, the fatal traffic collision took place at Interstate 240 and Perkins at about 4:39 p.m. On arrival, medical personnel transported one person to Regional One Hospital where they were later declared dead.
Hours later, at least 10 cop cars were at the scene closing a lane of I-240 and the shoulder of the interstate as a car sat crashed out at the base of a traffic sign. No other details are immediately available.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
