1 person killed after a traffic collision on a freeway in North Hollywood (Los Angeles, CA)

On Monday afternoon, one person was killed after a traffic collision in North Hollywood.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place at about 4 p.m. where the southbound 170 Freeway merges into the eastbound 134 Freeway. The Los Angeles Fire Department actively responded to the crash scene after getting reports that a vehicle had struck an embankment.

At this time, it is unknown how many vehicles in total were involved in the wreck. The LAFD rushed one person to a nearby hospital in unknown condition, but it is not clear if the transported patient is the person who died. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.

An investigation is ongoing.
