1 person killed after a motorcycle crash in Castro Valley (Castro Valley, CA)

On early Wednesday morning, one person was killed following a two-vehicle collision in Castro Valley.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place at about 7:12 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 580, just east of the Grove Way exit. The early reports showed that a motorcycle and a vehicle crashed into each other for reasons that are yet to be known.

The motorcycle rider died of their injuries after the accident. Multiple lanes of the freeway were shut down as crews worked at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
