1 person killed, 9 others hospitalized after a two-vehicle collision in Rutherford County (Smyrna, TN)

On Tuesday night, one person died while several people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Rutherford County.

The fatal two-vehicle crash took place at the intersection of US 41 and Jefferson Pike in Smyrna. The early reports showed that there were five occupants in each vehicle. One person suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials.

Nine other people were transported to local hospitals with unspecified injuries. Eight of those victims remain in the hospital, while one person was provided medical aid and released. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
