1 person killed, 2 people injured after a rollover crash in Southeast Austin (Austin, TX)

On Tuesday, one person died while two others suffered injuries following a rollover crash in Southeast Austin.

As per the initial information, the fatal two-vehicle collision took place at about 11:54 p.m. in the 5000 block of FM 973 — at the intersection with Elroy Road. On arrival, responders found one vehicle upside down and began life-saving efforts on one person.

Two other people were found to be pinned inside their vehicle, and firefighters worked to rescue them. One of them was declared dead at the scene. The other two adults were rushed to St. David’s South Austin; one with critical injuries and the other with serious injuries.

Officers detained a driver at the scene on intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault charges. The identities of the victims have not been revealed at this time. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under investigation.
