One person was killed and two others received major injuries after a wreck Sunday morning on I-80 in San Pablo.
As per the initial information, the four-vehicle pile-up was reported at around 6:15 a.m. on eastbound I-80, west of San Pablo Dam Road. The wreck happened when the driver of a transit van lost control, struck the center divider and came to a stop in the wrong direction.
Then, three other cars hit the van. A man in his mid-20s, who was in one of the cars, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people in the cars were hospitalized. All lanes of the interstate were shut down following the crash.
All lanes reopened at around 9:35 a.m. and a Sig Alert was lifted. Traffic was moving again on eastbound Interstate Highway 80. No other details are available.
