According to the Weslaco Police Department, a multi-vehicle accident was reported on Saturday.
The officials stated that the crash happened on the 1000 block of North Texas Boulevard at around 2:27 a.m.
The officials reported that three vehicles were involved in the crash and the occupant of one of the vehicles was extricated.
The officials confirmed that the victim was hospitalized and was treated for his injuries.
The officials have charged 23-year-old Lorenzo Isidro Abrego with intoxication assault with a vehicle, an accident involving serious bodily injury, and an accident involving damage to the vehicle.
The identity of the victim is yet to be determined.
