Louisiana State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash that injured a person. The crash happened on I-10 west near the border between Ascension and St. James parish.
According to LSP, an 18-wheeler plunged off the roadway into a bayou. The driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Troopers said the inside lane of the eastbound highway would be shut down due to the crash. Area drivers are requested to take an alternative route.
No further details regarding the crash are currently available. It is unclear what caused the crash and if alcohol was a factor.
