The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday.
The accident occurred on Interstate 805 near the North Park neighborhood at 3:43 p.m.
According to the officials, a man was driving his black Kis sedan on the freeway when he lost control and his vehicle left the freeway. The sedan then went onto the embankment and overturned.
The driver was treated for minor injuries. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed.
The officials have confirmed that they do not believe alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The crash is still being investigated.
