1 person injured after being hit by a vehicle in Los Angeles (Los Angeles, CA)

One person was injured after being hit by a vehicle late Monday night in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles within the San Fernando Valley.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the 7700 block of Balboa Boulevard at about 11:30 p.m. in response to an auto-pedestrian crash. The early reports showed that a vehicle struck a pedestrian with a full shopping cart. The incident left a large spread of various items scattered across the roadway.

On arrival, responders found the pedestrian in unknown condition. The person hit is believed to be a transient and was with a cart filled with various items which were spread all over Balboa Boulevard due to the impact. The victim was taken by LAFD to a local hospital. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
