1 person injured after an auto-pedestrian crash in Eureka (Eureka, CA)

On Thursday, one person suffered injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Eureka.

As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian collision took place at about 5:55 p.m. on northbound Broadway Street and West Washington Street. The preliminary reports showed that a vehicle struck one person for reasons that are yet to be known.

On arrival, emergency crews took the pedestrian to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Traffic was backed up in both directions due to the accident. Officials rerouted northbound traffic onto West Washington as crews worked at the scene. No other details are made available.

The incident remains under investigation.
