1 person injured after a two-vehicle crash near Walker (Alpine Township, MI)

On Thursday, one person suffered injuries after a traffic collision near Walker.

As per the initial information, the two-vehicle accident took place shortly after 6 p.m. in the area of Fruit Ridge Avenue and Stage Avenue in Alpine Township. The early reports showed that a patrol deputy responding to a non-emergency crash was traveling northbound on Fruit Ridge Avenue. At the same time, a tow truck was southbound on the road and was slowly making a turn.

Just then, a Sedan behind the tow truck lost control on the slippery roads, and went into the northbound lane in the path of the deputy. The Sedan driver, a 40-year-old Walker resident, was rushed to the hospital in serious condition. The deputy was transported to the hospital to be evaluated. No other details are available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
