On early Wednesday morning, a pedestrian was hospitalized with unknown injuries after being hit by a vehicle on South Foster Drive.
Initially, Baton Rouge Police (BRPD) responded to the area of Burgundy Avenue and Claycut Road at about 4:30 a.m. on reports of a traffic crash. Authorities confirmed that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, and had to be freed from underneath the vehicle.
The victim, who is yet to be identified, was immediately taken to an area hospital. As of now, the extent of injuries sustained by the pedestrian is not known. No details have been provided regarding the involved vehicle and its driver.
The crash remains under active review.
