On Tuesday morning, a pedestrian suffered critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle on I-75.
As per the initial information, the auto-pedestrian crash took place a little after 8 a.m. in the southbound lanes near Windy Hill Road. The preliminary investigation indicated that the pedestrian left the west shoulder, walked into the path of a Chrysler 200 and got struck. On arrival, medical personnel rushed the victim to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where they were listed in critical condition Tuesday.
The driver of the Chrysler remained unharmed in the accident. It is unknown if the driver of the Chrysler would face any charges. Officials briefly closed several lanes to clear the debris, causing traffic congestion through Cobb County at the peak of the morning commute. No other details are made available.
The incident remains under investigation.
