1 person in critical condition after a vehicle slams into metro Atlanta animal hospital in Dunwoody (Dunwoody, GA)

On Wednesday, a driver suffered critical injuries after a vehicle smashed into the building of a Dunwoody animal hospital.

Officers actively responded to the Winters Chapel Animal Hospital off Peeler Road at about 12:30 a.m. after getting reports of single-vehicle crash. The early reports showed that a car swerved off the road and hit a tree before it crashed into the building. On arrival, emergency crews rushed the 46-year-old driver of the car to the hospital with critical injuries.

According to the authorities, the animal hospital building has major damage, but none of the damage seems will affect the building’s structural integrity. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown at this time. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
