On Thursday morning, one person suffered critical injuries following a multi-vehicle wreck on I-80. The incident also caused a major traffic backup in the area.
As per the initial information, the four-vehicle pile-up took place at about 6 a.m. on I-80 east of Sparks in Patrick. The early reports showed that a wrong-way driver caused the wreck. On arrival, emergency crews rushed one person to the hospital in critical condition.
Another person was transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Traffic was backed up for more than three hours as crews worked at the scene. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
