On Wednesday night, one person was taken to a hospital after a vehicle crashed into a strip mall in Downtown Los Angeles.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the area of 5th Street and Figueroa Street at about 11:05 p.m. after getting reports of a traffic collision. The early reports showed that a vehicle plowed into a structure as a result of which four people were pinned inside the vehicle.
On arrival, firefighters managed to extricate the victims from the vehicle. Authorities are investigating the crash for possible DUI with high rate of speed prior to the collision. Another vehicle was reportedly at the scene in the street observed with severe front end damage.
The status of the occupant(s) of that vehicle is unclear at this time. At least one person was taken by ambulance to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. The events that have led up to the accident remain unknown. No additional information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
