1 person hospitalized after a traffic collision in North Hills (Los Angeles, CA)

One person received injuries after a crash Thursday night in the North Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley.

As per the initial information, the authorities actively responded to the 15200 block of Nordhoff Street at about 9:13 p.m. after getting reports of a traffic collision involving a hydrant. On arrival, emergency crews located a gushing hydrant shooting water across the street which shattered a window of a parked vehicle.

Responders also located a red vehicle with major front end damage near the sheared hydrant. There was another vehicle found near the gushing hydrant that had crashed into an apartment building gate, causing approximately 50 feet of fence damage. One person was taken to a local hospital with unspecified injuries. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
