According to the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department, a motor vehicle accident was reported on the afternoon of Tuesday.
The Tempe Police stated that a car rolled over near Loop 101 and Fremont Drive.
The driver of the vehicle had a flat tire and lost control following which he crashed into the freeway wall.
The crash happened at around 4 p.m.
Officials reported that the person was ejected from the vehicle.
The victim was rushed to the hospital with severe head trauma.
The officials did not disclose the identity of the injured victim.
Police are yet to clarify whether drugs, alcohol or reckless driving was the cause of the accident.
No additional information was provided by the Tempe Police.
