1 person hospitalized after a crash in Clayton (Clayton, CA)

One person received injuries after a traffic accident Sunday in Clayton.

As per the initial information, the rollover crash was reported just after 1 p.m. near the 4800 block of Leon Drive. The early reports showed that a vehicle flipped over in the creek bed for unknown reasons. The incident startled nearby residents who reported a person trapped in the wreckage of a small truck.

Although there was water in the creek bed where the truck came to a stop, it posed no threat as crews arrived to remove and transport the injured motorist. Crews utilized the Jaws of Life to peel open the truck and reach the driver, who seemed to be fading in and out of consciousness. Con Fire’s AIR2 helicopter arrived to airlift the injured man to John Muir Hospital with unspecified injuries. No other details are available.

The accident remains under investigation.
