1 Person Died In A Motor Vehicle Crash In Taft (Taft, CA)

The California Highway Patrol reported a motor vehicle crash on Wednesday morning. The accident happened on Highway 119 westbound at around 5:30 a.m. The collision involved three vehicles.

According to CHP, a 2019 GMC Sierra was driving east on Highway 119 at about 55 mph, a Ford F250 was driving west at about 55 mph, and a 2005 GMC Sierra was following the Ford F250 at an unknown speed. 2019 GMC Sierra veered into the westbound lane and collided with the Ford F250. The 2019 GMC Sierra then struck the 2005 GMC Sierra in a direct collision.

The 2005 GMC Sierra’s driver died at the scene. Major injuries were sustained by the drivers of the 2019 GMC Sierra and Ford F250 as they were taken to Kern Medical. The identity of the deceased victim is not yet known at this time.

Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have played a role in the fatal crash, according to officials.
