1 Person DIed In A Motor Vehicle Crash In San Miguel County (San Miguel County, N. M)

The New Mexico State Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash early Sunday morning.

The accident occurred on Interstate 25 heading north at around 5 a.m.

A Cadillac SUV was trying to pass a commercial motor vehicle, but hit the trailer instead.

The Cadillac struck the Ford F-150 head-on after it crossed a median and entered a southbound lane.

A passenger in the Cadillac, Laura Orozco, 20, of Fort Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police confirmed that drugs or alcohol and non-usage of seatbelts do not seem to be a factor he crash.

Both the F-150 and the Cadillac’s drivers were transferred to a Santa Fe hospital where they received treatment for non-critical injuries.

The trailer struck the driver’s automobile, but the driver was unharmed.

The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
