The Phoenix Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday afternoon. The accident happened close to Thomas road and 75th avenue at around 3 p.m.
According to police, a driver who ran a red light collided with a vehicle that was making a left turn. The driver who was making the turn passed away at the scene.
With non-life-threatening wounds, the other driver and two passengers from the first car were taken to the hospital. The identities of the victims have not been disclosed.
According to investigators, a pedestrian who was near the intersection at the time of the collision was struck. With minor injuries, the pedestrian was taken to the hospital.
As crews work to clear the scene and conduct an investigation, police say the area between 75th Avenue and Thomas Road is closed in both directions.
The fatal crash is still being investigated.
