The Edmond Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Tuesday afternoon. Police were notified via a 911 call about a person in distress near the railway tracks in the 700 block of Driftwood Lane at around 12:40 p.m.
According to Edmonds police Cmdr. Josh McClure, officers found that someone had been hit by a train while conducting their search. The person was fatally injured.
One person was declared dead at the scene. The name and identity of the victim have not been disclosed yet.
It is unsure what caused the crash. The fatal crash is still being investigated by the officials.
As of Tuesday, the tracks are still closed while police investigate. No other details are available currently.
