The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported a motor vehicle crash in east Casa Grande on Monday afternoon.
The collision involved three vehicles.
The accident happened at milepost 120 on State Route 287 close to Single Peak Road.
DPS confirmed that one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another one was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The names and identities of the victims have not been disclosed yet.
It is unclear what caused the crash and if drugs or alcohol were a factor involved.
The fatal crash is being investigated by the officials.
While troopers investigate the crash, SR-287 is closed.
