1 person died after a motorcycle crash in the west valley (Las Vegas, NV)

One person was killed following a high-speed crash Thursday in the west valley.

The early reports showed that a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Nissan Rogue were stopped facing south on S. Hualapai Way in a left-turn lane at the intersection with W. Spring Mountain Road on Jan. 6 at about 11:53 a.m.

At that point of time, a Yamaha motorcycle heading north on Hualapai Way was going at a high speed weaving through travel lanes and passing other vehicles. The reports further stated that the rider lost control of the motorcycle and overturned it, throwing the rider form the motorcycle.

The motorcycle skidded on its side and crashed into the stopped Jeep. The motorcycle driver then hit the Nissan that was stopped behind the Jeep. On arrival, first responders rushed the 23-year-old motorcyclist to University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit where they were declared dead. No other details are available.

The incident remains under review.
