One person was killed while another suffered injuries following a wrong-way crash on Saturday in north Phoenix.
As per the initial information, the fatal traffic collision took place on State Route 51 near Northern Ave shortly before midnight. The early reports showed that a driver was heading in the wrong direction on State Route 51 near Bethany Home Road.
A caller informed the officers that a vehicle was heading northbound in the southbound lanes. Shortly after, officers were notified about a crash on State Route 51 near Northern Ave. Officials confirmed that at least one person was killed as a result of the collision while a second person was taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
