1 person dead, another hospitalized after a motorcycle crash in Bakersfield (Bakersfield, CA)

On Monday night, a man lost his life following a two-vehicle collision in Bakersfield.

As per the initial information, the fatal motorcycle crash took place at approximately 9:20 p.m. on Taft Highway and Heather Meadows Drive. The preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle rider was traveling east on Taft Highway when the vehicle going in the same direction made an illegal U-turn.

The vehicle reportedly went from the right edge of the roadway directly in front of the motorcycle and the crash happened. On arrival, emergency personnel rushed the motorcycle rider to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.

According to the responders, two other occupants received minor injuries. Paramedics transported one of them to a local hospital while the other remained at the scene. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are made available.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
