1 person dead after getting struck by Metro A Line train in Florence-Firestone area (Los Angeles, CA)

One person was killed after getting struck by a Metro A Line train Friday morning in the Florence-Firestone area.

As per the initial information, the fatal pedestrian accident took place at the rail crossing near Gage Avenue and Holmes Avenue at about 11 a.m. Rail service on the A Line was interrupted for multiple hours between the Florence and Slausion Metro train stations.

Shuttle service was arranged for passengers intending to ride the rail. The events that have led up to the crash remain unknown at this time. The identity of the deceased will be released once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
