On Tuesday night, one person was killed after getting struck by a vehicle on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
As per the initial information, the fatal auto-pedestrian crash took place at about 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Hall Street. The preliminary reports showed that a pedestrian was walking close or in a crosswalk when a Ford Expedition going northbound hit them in the left lane. The victims succumbed to their injuries after the collision.
It is unknown if the pedestrian died at the scene or at a hospital. The southbound and northbound lanes of Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard were shut down for three hours as crews worked at the scene. Charges are not pending at this time because fault of the crash has not been confirmed yet. No further details were provided.
