On Sunday night, one person was killed after a vehicle went down an embankment in Bakersfield.
As per the initial information, the fatal traffic accident took place at approximately 9:47 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5, south of Grapevine Road. The early reports showed that a vehicle swerved off the road and fell about 100 feet down an embankment.
At least one person suffered major injuries and was declared dead at the scene by the officials. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No additional information has been provided.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
